Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Red Seal Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and kitchen management, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality dishes are prepared and served in a timely manner. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to an exceptional dining experience.
Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training on food preparation techniques and safety standards.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, food ordering, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations and safety standards.
- Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards while maintaining consistency.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during peak hours.
- Monitor food presentation and portion control to maintain quality standards.
- Assist in managing kitchen schedules and staff assignments to optimize workflow.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in the food industry minimum of 10 years
- Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and kitchen safety practices.
- Familiarity with restaurant management principles and leadership skills to effectively manage kitchen staff.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- Passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Experience in bartending is a plus but not required.
