Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Treatment Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as a key point of contact for patients, coordinating treatment plans, scheduling appointments, and ensuring seamless communication between patients and clinical staff. This role requires a strong understanding of dental and medical office procedures, excellent interpersonal skills, and proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Open Dental and Dentrix. The Treatment Coordinator will play a vital role in enhancing patient experience and supporting the operational efficiency of our practice.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between patients and clinical staff to facilitate treatment planning and scheduling
- Explain treatment options, procedures, and financial arrangements clearly to patients
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Coordinate appointment scheduling to optimize clinic workflow and patient convenience
- Assist with insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and billing processes
- Collaborate with the dental or medical team to ensure patient care plans are executed effectively
- Support human resources functions related to onboarding new staff or interns as needed
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and practice policies
Skills
- Proficiency with Dentrix or similar electronic medical records systems
- Strong knowledge of dental office operations, medical terminology, and healthcare procedures
- Experience in human resources or supervising staff is a plus
- Background in dental or medical office environments, including hospital or nursing experience, is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to patients
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with budgeting processes related to patient care or practice management is advantageous
- Prior experience in acute care settings or hospital environments can be beneficial for understanding comprehensive patient needs
