The Opportunity

Shape the World Around You – As a Junior Fire Protection Designer in our Vancouver Buildings team, you'll help design safe, resilient spaces that protect people and property. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver fire protection solutions for commercial, institutional, and residential buildings across British Columbia. Your Impact

  • Design fire protection systems that meet code requirements and enhance building safety

  • Apply mechanical engineering principles to fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems

  • Contribute to fire modeling and hydraulic calculations for system performance

  • Support project teams with technical documentation, specifications, and drawings

  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and clients to integrate fire protection into building design

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • 3+ years of experience in fire protection or mechanical design for buildings

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

  • Familiarity with NFPA codes, BC Building Code, and fire protection standards

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software

  • Registration or eligibility for registration with EGBC is considered an asset

Compensation

Salary range (in British Columbia): $71,500 – $98,300

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
