About Rideau Lakes Early Learning Centre:

Rideau Lakes Early Learning Centre has served growing families in the Township of Rideau Lakes ​and surrounding areas for over 40 years. We provide childcare for children ages 0-12 years, including two full-time daycare programs, two Before & After School/School Age programs, and a Nursery School program, out of three locations in the village of Elgin (77 Main Street, 29 Main Street and South Crosby Public School). We are expanding our organization and adding an additional full-time site located at 2767 Hwy 15, Portland ON K0G 1V0.

What you'll do:

● Prepares food, and transports groceries to cooking location.

● Manage and maintain inventory.

● Follows, and ensure menus and recipes follow the Canada's Food Guide and all food preparation and cooking procedures follow Public Health guidelines.

● Ensures kitchen space is maintained in good working order, including cleaning, tidying, disinfection, any food handling requirements set out by Public Health, and any special food allergy handling requirements.

● If asked to work within the program, responsible for the supervision, safety, and wellbeing of the children, and must operate in compliance with all childcare licensing standards, Child Care and Early Years Act, Public Health standards, and Centre policies and procedures.

● Participates fully and consistently as a conscientious team member; maintains regular and open communication with other staff, attends and actively participates actively in staff meetings or training.

● Collects and takes out trash.

● Conducts other related duties as required.

What we're looking for:

● Experience with children

● Experience planning menus and preparing food

● Ontario Food Handler Certification

● Valid Standard First Aid and Level "C" CPR

● Negative criminal record check with vulnerable sector check

● Ability to work independently and in a team

● Understanding of the Canada's Food Guide
