About this opportunity:

Our client is an employee-owned, global engineering firm. Their multi-disciplinary team is active in market sectors across North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

Their public projects mechanical practice in Toronto is expanding. They're hiring for a Mechanical Project Manager to lead engineering design for federal government projects, as well as other buildings projects across their portfolio.

This is a work from home position in the Greater Toronto Area. This position will make site visits and attend client meetings in the local market.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Designs components of the overall building including integrating architectural design and adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Evaluates engineering design requirements and creates drawings to support constructions projects.
  • Performs engineering activities such as calculations, code research, material and building systems research, laying out components, and calculation of program and building areas.
  • Evaluates site conditions, including zoning requirements and site constraints and performs site surveys and field reviews to accurately document existing and new construction conditions.
  • Attends client and project meetings, review projects and changes from original scope of work.
  • Synthesizes, interprets and coordinates technical information to write engineering specifications for Project Manuals.
  • Reviews project products, services and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes and corporate quality controls.

Here's what's required:

  • 7-10+ years consulting engineering experience in mechanical buildings systems.
  • Is proficient in Engineering software skills, including AutoCAD and Revit MEP
  • Have successfully completed related post-secondary education.
  • Registered with a relevant professional engineering association is an asset.
  • Extensive project portfolio and demonstrated experience with local building codes.
