Position Summary:
We are seeking a Site Manager / Carpenter Apprentice who can lead residential
construction sites with professionalism, precision, and pride. This role is ideal for an
experienced, hands-on builder who excels in both field leadership and fine
craftsmanship, someone who takes ownership of their site, leads by example, and
ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Venture Pacific's
uncompromising standards.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Project Managers, trades, and clients
to oversee all on-site operations while also stepping in on the tools as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Leadership & Management
Oversee daily site operations for custom homes and major renovations.
Coordinate, supervise, and schedule all trades, suppliers, and site personnel.
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient jobsite in compliance with WorkSafeBC
and company standards.
- Conduct site meetings, ensure clear communication between all project
participants, and maintain accurate site documentation.
- Lead by example, uphold professionalism, quality, and teamwork at every level.
Carpentry & Hands-On Work
- Perform high-quality carpentry tasks as needed, particularly during framing,
finishing, or critical phases requiring craftsmanship.
Troubleshoot and resolve on-site challenges proactively and resourcefully.
Mentor junior carpenters and apprentices, ensuring adherence to VPCM standards.
Quality & Process Management
- Implement VPCM's Proven Process and construction management systems to
ensure every project meets expectations for quality, schedule, and budget.
Collaborate with Project Managers on budgets, timelines, and procurement.
Ensure inspections, checklists, and quality assurance steps are completed
throughout all project stages.
Client & Team Relations
Represent VPCM's brand and values on site with professionalism and respect.
Communicate clearly and positively with clients, architects, designers, and trades.
Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 3+ years residential construction experience, preferably with some supervisory or site management background.
Proven ability to manage high-end custom home and renovation projects.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, building codes, and site safety.
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Proficient with digital tools (Buildertrend or similar project management software
experience preferred).
- Valid BC Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
