Job Summary

Now, if you were to come on board as our Director of Catering & Retail, we'd ask you to do the following for us:

  • Develop and manage Food and Beverage operations for the Catering & Retail at the REAL District.
  • Hold team accountable to steps of service to deliver great guest service
  • Ensure team members have the tools necessary to complete their jobs
  • Ensure show quality standards are always maintained
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and guests, regularly obtaining feedback to improve operations
  • Support and communicate company initiatives
  • Ensure the execution of all menus, promotions and programs as outlined by the Director of Operations in accordance with Compass standards
  • Ensure that all security, safety, and sanitation standards are achieved
  • Achieve daily sales and assigned cost and budget goals 
  • Provide operational planning to ensure adequate products and equipment are ordered for anticipated business levels
  • Practice proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment
  • Follow and enforce responsible alcohol service policies
  • Forecast and adequately schedule team members to meet operational needs and desired targets
  • Interview, hire, train and develop team members according to Compass guidelines

  • At least five or more years of related hospitality catering management experience in a multi-unit food service environment.
  • Strong management skills, capable of motivating, leading and developing associates
  • Excellent client relationship-building and communication skills
  • Ability to control food and labour costs
  • Detail-oriented and a strong team player
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proven Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with utilizing multiple supporting programs
  • Must have ability to support managing larger groups in the main Retail Food operation
  • AFST (Advanced Food Safety Training)
