The Snow Shoveling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating snow removal operations to ensure timely, efficient, and safe clearing of snow from designated areas. This role involves managing a team of workers, monitoring weather conditions, and ensuring all equipment and procedures are utilized effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management:
  • Supervise and coordinate snow shoveling crews, assigning tasks and ensuring proper coverage of all areas.
  • Train team members on safety protocols, equipment usage, and efficient snow removal techniques.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Operational Oversight:
  • Monitor weather conditions and plan snow removal schedules accordingly.
  • Ensure all equipment, such as shovels, snow blowers, and salt spreaders, is in good working condition.
  • Implement and enforce safety measures to prevent accidents or injuries during operations.
  • Communication and Reporting:
  • Provide regular updates on progress and address any concerns promptly.
  • Maintain detailed records of work completed, hours worked, and any incidents.
  • Problem Solving:
  • Respond to unexpected challenges, such as equipment malfunctions or severe weather changes, with quick and effective solutions.
  • Ensure all areas meet safety and accessibility standards after snow removal.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in snow removal or a related field, with leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in cold, physically demanding conditions for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of snow removal equipment and safety protocols.

Work Environment:

This role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and heavy snowfall. The supervisor must be available on-call during snow events, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Compensation:

Competitive hourly wage or salary, based on experience, with potential for overtime during peak snow seasons.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and enjoys leading a team to ensure safety and efficiency during winter weather challenges.
