Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Cross-Border Dispatcher to coordinate and manage the movement of freight across Canada–US borders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transportation logistics, customs processes, and excellent communication skills to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor cross-border shipments between Canada and the US
- Communicate with drivers, brokers, and customers to provide accurate load and delivery information
- Ensure compliance with all cross-border regulations, customs requirements, and documentation
- Assign and dispatch loads to company drivers and/or owner-operators
- Monitor and track shipments using dispatch software and GPS systems
- Respond to driver issues, delays, or emergencies and provide timely solutions
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, logs, and trip reports
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure excellent customer service and on-time delivery
Qualifications:
- Previous dispatch experience in cross-border trucking (1–3 years preferred)
- Knowledge of US and Canadian transportation regulations, customs, and border crossing procedures
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in dispatch software (e.g., Load link, DAT and AFM) and Microsoft Office
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including after-hours as needed
