This role is ideal for a payroll leader ready to take on a strategic and hands-on mandate to transform payroll operations. You will oversee all payroll activities across Canada and the US, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll execution while leading the selection and implementation of a new payroll system. In addition to managing a small team, you'll drive improved governance, automation, and process documentation, playing a key role in supporting the company's growth and audit-readiness.

Requirements
- 8+ years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a payroll leadership role overseeing both Canadian and US payrolls.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian and US payroll rules/legislation and employment legislation required, particularly British Columbia, Texas, New York and California
- Demonstrated experience leading a payroll system implementation or transition project, including working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with ADP payroll platforms (Canada and US), and knowledge of system migration considerations.
- HRIS experience (HiBob preferred) for managing employee lifecycle processes and reporting and the integration with core payroll platforms and ERP.
- Expertise in 401(k) and RRSP plan administration and compliance, including deductions, limits, and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel (pivot tables, data analysis).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll matters clearly to non-specialists and engage confidently with employees at all levels.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
- Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation (or equivalent) is required
- Ability to prioritize and work effectively under tight deadlines, be independent and work in a collaborative group-oriented environment with the help of sound judgement in decision-making processes
