The Sheraton Cavalier Saskatoon Hotel is a local, family-owned hotel operated as a franchised property with Marriott International. The hotel consists of 237 guest rooms, conference facilities, Carvers Steakhouse & Lounge, Scarlet Craft kitchen, as well as an indoor waterpark. The ownership company also operates The James Hotel, a beautiful boutique property providing a personalized service like no other hotel in the city.

From an HR perspective this allows for fun and creativity when building engagement and culture amongst the various departments.

Human Resources Manager is responsible for overall operations of the HR Department and its associated programs, policies, and functions in support of corporate goals and objectives for The Sheraton Cavalier Saskatoon Hotel and The James Hotel Saskatoon. This will be accomplished by conducting short and long-term planning efforts, designing HR programs and initiatives as well as overseeing the development and implementation of company policies and procedures. The HR Manager creates and manages budgets for HR administration, staff relations, and recruitment.

The HR Manager is a strategic partner on the Executive Team and is an active participant on various committees throughout the organization balancing needs and objectives amongst all levels (Executive, Management and Associates). The HR Manager is the service culture champion facilitating orientation and brand training.

The HR Manager will maintain a visible presence throughout the hotel, actively engaging with employees in their departments to foster connection, recognition, and trust. This includes regularly checking in with teams, celebrating milestones, and ensuring the HR department is seen as a supportive, approachable partner in daily operations.

The HR Manager leads recruitment initiatives and processes attracting talent outside of the organization while promoting development opportunities within; this also involves temporary foreign worker support programs. As the HR Manager, you are the benefit plan administrator for the company and assist in payroll administration.

The HR Manager promotes a collaborative environment to foster a positive associate experience throughout the hotel which includes engagement surveys, focus groups, recognition programs and activities. They will also take a leading role in organizing and facilitating staff events, both professional and social, that build team spirit and strengthen the hotel's culture of belonging. Beyond the hotel walls, the HR Manager will champion community involvement through volunteer initiatives and local engagement projects that reflect our values as a family-owned, community-minded organization.

Qualifications

· Minimum 3 years in a Human Resource Generalist role.

· Educational background in Human Resources

· HR designation is considered an asset.

· Previous hotel leadership experience is beneficial.

· Able to make sound business decisions and evidence-based recommendations to senior management.

· Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.

· Excellent time management and project management skills.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.

· Sound leadership, staff management, and teambuilding skills.

· Computer literacy, including effective working skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.

· Able to interpret and implement personnel related legislation.

· Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.

· Demonstrated basic knowledge of labour laws.
