Overview

We are seeking a talented and personable Hair Stylist & barber to join our vibrant salon team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping clients look and feel their best, with strong skills in hair styling and customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase creativity, build lasting client relationships, and grow within a professional environment dedicated to beauty and wellness.

The Hair Stylist will be responsible for providing high-quality hair services, maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace.

This job will start as a part time 2-3 days a week and transition into a full time in a Luxury Retirement Living 55+ but also open for public.

Must be able to work well with Seniors. Must be a Sub Contractor.

Start date January 2026.

Pay: Minimum pay guarantee & commission

Experience: hair styling: 3 years (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of hair styling services including cuts, color, treatments, and special styling requests
  • Consult with clients to understand their preferences and recommend suitable styles or products
  • Maintain strict sanitation and cleanliness standards in all work areas and tools in accordance with health regulations
  • Upsell retail products and additional services to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue
  • Provide excellent customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere and addressing client needs promptly
  • Manage front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, checking in clients, and processing payments
  • Stay updated on the latest hair trends, techniques, and products through ongoing education and training

Qualifications

  • Valid cosmetology or barber license as required by state regulations
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and retain clients
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and best practices in a salon environment
  • Ability to upsell retail products tactfully to enhance client satisfaction
  • Experience with retail sales and front desk operations is a plus
  • A friendly, professional attitude with a passion for the beauty industry

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 9 – 35 per week
