Job Overview

Lucas' Yard Care is hiring dependable and hardworking snow removal crew members for the 2025–2026 winter season. Each team member is assigned a route of around 25 residential driveways and is responsible for keeping them clear and safe throughout the season.

This is a guaranteed monthly-pay position — you're paid every month regardless of how much snow falls. In return, you must be available and ready to work all snow events, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Average snow events last around 4 hours, with larger events lasting up to 8–10 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Clear snow from residential driveways and walkways using snow blowers and shovels
  • Apply ice melt when required
  • Be available for all snow events throughout the season
  • Communicate with your route lead or dispatch when jobs are complete
  • Maintain a professional attitude and provide quality service to customers

Pay Structure

  • $2,200–$2,500/month based on route size and reliability
  • Paid monthly (same pay whether light or heavy snowfall)
  • Vehicle allowance: $0.60/km for route leads using their own vehicle
  • Bonuses may be available for excellent attendance and performance

Schedule

  • On-call during snowfall events (average 8 per month)
  • Typical shift: 4–10 hours depending on snow depth
  • Must be available evenings, early mornings, and weekends
  • Major holidays off (Christmas Day and New Year's Day)

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license (required for drivers; asset for crew members)
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and physically capable of outdoor work in cold weather
  • Able to lift 40+ lbs and operate snow blowers or backpack blowers
  • Comfortable working early mornings, late nights, and weekends
  • Previous snow removal or landscaping experience is an asset but not required
