Role Description

This is a full-time off-site role for a Social Media Marketing Intern, located in Ottawa, ON. The Social Media Marketing Intern will be responsible for creating and managing social media content, implementing digital marketing strategies, and effectively communicating with the audience. The intern will also assist with overall marketing efforts and community engagement activities on various social media platforms.

real-world experience
running a campaign from start to finish.

As a
Marketing Intern
, you'll have the freedom to plan, test, and launch a small digital campaign to grow Rent Referee's visibility among students in Ottawa and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Social Media Marketing and Social Media Content Creation skills
  • Experience with Digital Marketing and general Marketing practices
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site environment
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and tools is a plus
  • Passion for tenant rights and fairness in the renting process
  • Enthusiasm for community engagement and storytelling

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute creative marketing ideas on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, or Reddit
  • Work directly with the founder to refine brand messaging and tone
  • Help design or coordinate social media content (graphics, captions, hashtags, short videos)
  • Track engagement and share what's working
  • Contribute to the launch strategy for a new platform that gives renters power and transparency
