Let's start with the role
The purpose of the role is to provide ongoing compliance and regulatory support, on an in-house engagement basis, to support and facilitate the full spectrum of the daily operations for the Canadian branch.
As a Senior Compliance Officer you will:
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards by researching and communicating requirements, creating action plans, and obtaining approvals from AGCO, iGO, or any other relevant regulatory body as needed;
- Support the Compliance Manager in ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met within the country and that regulatory compliance initiatives are effectively delivered across the organization:
- Conduct regulatory research by reviewing regulatory bulletins and other relevant sources of information;
- Develop and support regulatory policies through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, incorporating future trends and relevant data;
- Propose the strategic approach for local regulatory compliance and ensure alignment with company-wide regulatory compliance objectives;
- Liaise with independent authorities, governmental and non-governmental bodies, law enforcement agencies, auditors, and peer companies to promote the company's interests;
- Perform risk assessments and internal audits related to legal and regulatory compliance requirements across operational, technical, and support processes;
- Prepare structured and insightful reports on regulatory requirements and related action plans, ensuring traceability and transparency;
- Prepare formal responses to questions and investigations conducted by official bodies;
- Coordinate compliance audits conducted by regulatory authorities;
- Promote a strong compliance culture within the company by delivering tailored training, awareness initiatives, and consistent communication across teams;
- Adapt to evolving regulatory landscapes and support cross-functional teams in managing change in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field; a legal academic background is strongly preferred.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in the gaming sector or another highly regulated industry.
- Proven ability to manage regulatory requirements and interact effectively with regulatory authorities.
- Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities.
- Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
