Job Description: Our client, a prominent construction company, is currently seeking a Controller to lead their finance team. The Controller will oversee financial operations, reporting directly to the CFO.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to provide insights into business performance and inform strategic decision-making.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads to establish financial targets and monitor performance against goals.
- Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity and maximize returns on investments.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with audit requirements and timely completion of audit deliverables.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, including analysis of key performance indicators, profitability, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects, such as system implementations, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation required.
- years of progressive accounting experience, including managerial roles.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial software applications.
- Experience in the construction industry or related field is preferred.
