Position Overview

Position: Journeyman Electrician

Reports To: Owner/Operator – Brett Irving, Project Management Team

Hours of Work: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM. Additional hours may be required as part of the role and will be paid accordingly.

Compensation: Competitive and based on experience and skill level, Journeyman starting wage is $38.50 with advancements available.

Role Summary

The Electrician is responsible for completing assigned electrical work safely, efficiently, and with high-quality workmanship. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craft, communicates well, and represents Bivinco Electric professionally at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive to work on time and prepared for the day.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and wear Bivinco Electric attire as required.
  • Be polite, respectful, and considerate on all job sites, avoiding inappropriate language and unnecessary noise.
  • Follow project instructions and scope details clearly, completing tasks with high workmanship and professionalism.
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding job start times, progress, and completion.
  • Complete all assigned work within the expected timeframe.
  • Maintain your own basic tool kit and continue building your tool inventory as needed.
  • Keep all personal and company tools, equipment, and machinery in safe, working condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle; check oil and fluids weekly.
  • Notify office staff when your work vehicle receives a service or inspection.
  • Report any broken or damaged tools/equipment to your Manager immediately.
  • Ensure your job site is safe at all times.
  • Follow all Bivinco Electric "House Rules" and operational procedures.
  • Take pride in your work and enjoy what you do.
  • Coordinate with clients and your Manager if a return visit is required.
  • Leave all job sites clean, swept, and free of debris; dispose of trash properly.
  • Report any concerns or issues immediately—communication is essential.
  • Provide a minimum of 2 weeks' notice if requesting time off.
  • If sick, notify your Manager before 7:00 AM.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute positively to company culture.
  • Mentor and support apprentices when applicable.
  • Perform quality-control checks on any work that is your responsibility.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Enter accurate time entries and job notes in the company system, with correct job numbers and material requests.
  • Ensure all credits and packing slips are documented and uploaded under the correct job file.
  • Maintain punctuality and provide excellent customer service on all client visits.
  • Support positive client feedback and high satisfaction ratings.
  • Ensure time entries align with GPS/job records.
  • Report all incidents or accidents immediately.
  • Report any broken or damaged equipment right away.
  • Remove all trash from job sites and recycle where possible; flatten cardboard etc.
  • Complete all work within expected timeframes listed in job notes.
  • Notify the office if a job requires additional time or a return visit.
  • Keep your work vehicle clean, organized, and in good operating condition.

Pay: From $38.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
