Currently, we offer services to the Dundas and surrounding areas, but most of ATS' clientele stems from contracts with Indigenous communities across Ontario, Nunavut, and Quebec. ABOUT THE ROLE
Anderson Therapy Services (ATS) is currently seeking one (1)
full-time Registered Mental Health- Art Therapist
with experience supporting children and adolescents through emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.

Salary Range:
Pay: $38 - $45 per hour
Job Types: Full Time
Work Location- Hybrid Remote in Dundas Office
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Education:
- Master's Degree or equivalent qualification (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assessment and treatment to individuals of all ages who present with a broad range of psychological and/or social difficulties.
- Work with clients virtually - in remote Indigenous communities using virtual care technology.
- Work with clients in the Dundas, Ontario office and surrounding areas.
- Travel to Northern First Nations Communities is required. The trip duration may vary, lasting up to one week. Total annual travel accounts for up to 10% of the role.
- Coordinate with other clinicians from other disciplines to provide a strong continuum of care for clients.
- Provide support which promotes mental wellness, child growth and development, healthy parent-child relations, and positive child-school dynamics
· Start as soon as possible.
Qualifications
THE "MUST HAVES"
- In good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (Registered)
- Qualified and experienced social worker (with specialization in Psychotherapy) in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers are welcome to apply.
- Able to travel to remote and rural Indigenous Communities across Canada.
THE 'NICE TO HAVES'
- Experience and specialized skills to work with children, youth, and adults who experience, or are affected by, but not limited to: Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Loss, Separation and/or Divorce, Self-Harm, and Suicidal Ideation
- Experience working with individuals, and engaging caregivers in treatment both in-clinic and remotely.
- Skilled in completing formal and informal assessments, and identifying person-centered treatment goals
- Experience tailoring intervention plans to each client and varying use of directive methods (e.g., artmaking prompts) and non-directive methods (e.g., unprompted artmaking and play therapy) in response to client needs/goals.
- Knowledge of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people, history, intergenerational trauma, culture, health priorities and social issues impacting mental health
- Able to adapt assessment and treatment approach to the needs of clients, including clients of diverse cultural backgrounds & across various settings (e.g., online)
- Able to work well as part of a team which includes Speech-Language Pathologists, Communicative Disorders Assistants, Occupation Therapists, Physiotherapists, Behaviour Therapists.
- Possess the flexibility and time-management skills necessary to manage an ever-changing caseload.
- Flexibility, problem solving skills, creativity, and organizational/time management skills.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with video conference software (e.g., Zoom), Canva and the Microsoft Office ecosystem (e.g., TEAMS, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
