Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Snow Shovelers. This role is essential during the winter months, focusing on snow removal to ensure safe and accessible pathways for residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service.

Responsibilities

  • Clear snow from driveways, sidewalks, and other designated areas using shovels and snow blowers.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools effectively for efficient snow removal.
  • Maintain equipment used for snow removal, ensuring it is in good working condition. .
  • Collaborate with team members to complete tasks in a timely manner while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisors.

Skills

  • Mechanical knowledge to understand and operate various tools and machinery effectively.
  • Familiarity with snow blowing techniques and equipment operation is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and excavators for various tasks.
  • Knowledge of horticulture practices including irrigation systems and tree care.
  • Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.

Requirements

  • Physical ability to work outdoors for extended periods in cold and snowy conditions.
  • Reliable transportation to and from dispatch or assigned routes.
  • Availability for on-call shifts (including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays).
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to work in coordination with tractor and plow operators.
  • Must dress appropriately for weather conditions (PPE provided where applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in snow removal or outdoor labour.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (an asset).
  • Understanding of safe work practices for winter conditions.
  • MUST have valid G licence.

Job Types: Fixed term contract, Seasonal

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
