We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse. Your expertise will ensure smooth shipping and receiving operations, accurate order picking, and proper materials handling. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-organized distribution environment while maintaining the highest safety standards and operational efficiency.

Duties

  • Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, crane equipment, and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Perform order picking using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Load and unload shipments with precision, adhering to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • Handle materials with mechanical knowledge of pallet jacks, heavy lifting techniques, and construction-grade equipment when necessary.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation.
  • Use heavy equipment such as crane or clamp trucks for specialized material handling tasks in compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly stacking pallets and managing inventory locations.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning; report any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Follow all OSHA guidelines and safety procedures during daily operations to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Support warehouse management system updates by accurately recording movement logs and inventory data.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on workflow improvements and safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, clamp trucks, or other heavy equipment in a warehouse or construction setting.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes including order picking, shipping & receiving, and materials handling.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety practices.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
  • Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems for order accuracy.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods.
  • Warehouse experience combined with previous supervisor or team lead roles is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to industrial machinery operation is essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail for verifying shipments and maintaining accurate records.
  • Valid certification for forklift operation; additional certifications for crane or clamp truck operation are a plus.
