DETAILS
The House Lead is a member of the interdisciplinary team which assists and supports the Assistant Program Manager & Program Director in overseeing the day-to-day program operations of Anew Centre for Healing. The House Lead provides direct support to children, youth, and families, as well as to the front-line staff, and assists in the direction and support of program philosophies. The House Lead will help to facilitate monthly group supervisions with all front-line members with the support of the Assistant Program Manager. The House Lead is accountable to the Assistant Program Manager and Director(s) of Anew Centre for Healing.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Main contact for the home and the team of support staff;
- Coordinate the transportation of participants for visits, community events, outings and booking of van;
- Room checks every week;
- Promotion and Education of House Rules with support staff and participants;
- Monthly documentation related to participants including service planning, assessments, progress reports, reviews, plans, etc.;
- Assist participants with household chores, leading by example and promoting routine and responsibility, as needed;
- Coordination of Program and Services;
- Administrative and file maintenance;
- Maintaining client records and ensuring appointments are up to date and completed within timelines outlined in policy (medical, dental, optical, etc.);
- Ensure the adherence to the monthly house budget;
- Ensure allowance is administered weekly, as well as parental funds (if applicable) and documented;
- Assisting participants to work towards and complete goals;
- Implementation of a recreational schedule, menu for meals, and cultural events/activities with participants;
- Assist participants with transitional support and resources;
- Assist participants with accessing programming and addressing concerns for involvement;
- Providing all participants with a sense of safety, acceptance, and nurturance as well as providing support and services through a trauma-informed, inclusive approach;
- Maintaining and promoting professional boundaries with participants, while maintaining the best interest of the participants at all times;
- After hours/On-Call Rotation;
- Assist with house staff schedules;
- Additional tasks or duties as directed by Leadership
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Human services degree or diploma (and/or competency-based equivalencies);
- Two (2) years related front-line and/or supervisory experience;
- Current criminal (with vulnerable sector search) and current intervention record checks;
- Strong interpersonal skills that bridge the distance with individuals that may have a resistance to relationships, different morals/values, and alternative lifestyle choices;
- Non-judgmental manner;
- Strong personal boundaries;
- Demonstrates good writing and communication skills;
- Experience in working with diverse cultural and religious communities;
- Understanding of Client-Centered Theory, the Circle of Courage model, and Trauma Informed philosophies of treatment/intervention;
- Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture, beliefs and traditions
