Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Enjoys being part of a driven goal orientated team
- Preparation and Processing full cycle payroll weekly for both union and non-union employees
- Review all payroll hours accuracy and completeness
- Process all assorted irregular activities such as terminations, severance, vacation pay-outs, pay corrections, ROE's, retroactive pay, new hires, and banked time
- Manage reporting of monthly union and government reports and remittances
- Provide timely and accurate information and reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Ensure all union and corporate policies and procedures are followed
- Review and enhance processes for inefficiencies
- Assistance in preparation of yearly audit file
- Adhoc and monthly reporting to the controller
- Assist co-workers in the finance team during peak times
- Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate:
- A Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident
- Has their own transportation as bus transportation is not available
- Resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba or surrounding area
- Own transportation is required
- Enjoy working in a positive environment with highly motivated individuals that want to increase efficiencies and analyze real-time data
- Ability to work in a team environment with effective interpersonal communication skills - written and oral
- Strong ability to organize tasks and work within defined timelines
- Strong analytical skills, specifically payroll data with a problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple intake channels efficiently
- Enjoys helping people to solve issues
- Payroll education such as Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) an asset
- Preference is given to those with a construction background and union payroll experience
