Role Overview: Business Development and Sales Manager (Montreal, Ottawa and Kingston greater areas) ($119,000 to $130,000 CAD)

As the Business Development and Sales Manager, you will play a key role in driving growth by creating and executing business development strategies that deliver new accounts, increased revenue, and exceptional customer experiences. Leading a small, high-performing team of 2–3 professionals, you will manage sales initiatives, maintain a healthy pipeline, oversee projects, and ensure effective resolution of customer issues. This is a hands-on business development leadership opportunity that combines strategic vision with tactical execution — a truly "stratactical" role for a leader who thrives in both planning and doing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, and lead generation.
  • Build expertise in emerging lighting and surge protection trends and strategic growth areas to inform business development initiatives.
  • Identify, structure, and close new projects, including negotiating partnerships, alliances, and strategic transactions.
  • Manage senior-level relationships both internally and externally to support long-term business success.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pursue and secure new business opportunities.
  • Evaluate and participate in key conferences, trade shows, and industry events; manage related budgets and assess return on investment (ROI).
  • Represent DEHN Inc. in industry associations and community organizations, serving as a visible ambassador for the company's brand and values.
  • Strengthen DEHN Inc.'s brand recognition among key decision-makers, clients, and industry leaders.
  • Expand DEHN Inc.'s market presence through strategic teaming and partnership opportunities.
  • Develop and execute capture plans and teaming strategies that differentiate DEHN Inc. and drive client project success.
  • Support business growth through strategic capture planning, proposal development, and competitive positioning.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of account management experience within electronics manufacturing, with previous field sales representative responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a small team to achieve ambitious sales and growth goals.
  • Proven track record of coaching team members to improve performance, strengthen customer relationships, and build professional capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing customer P&L performance with a focus on maximizing profitability (strongly preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to influence.
  • Superior customer presentation skills and strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong time management, budget management and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented, strategic thinker, strong business and financial acumen and proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong understanding of Excel with experience using Microsoft Power Point and Word documents (Office 365).
