Customer Service, Order Processing, and Floral Operations

Freelance Contractor - Must Invoice

Hourly Rate: 23 to 28 per hour

(Base rate is 23. Higher rate depends on performance, flower knowledge, accuracy, speed, and accountability.)

Working in a flower shop is intense. It is fast, physical, mentally demanding, and customer driven. If you want an easy job, a slow pace, or a place to be on your phone, do not apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take, enter, and coordinate customer orders with accuracy and urgency
  • Type minimum 75 WPM
  • Provide warm, efficient, professional customer service in person and by phone
  • Confidently handle multiple phone lines and high pressure situations
  • Upsell effectively and guide customers toward better options
  • Understand delivery areas and navigate city logistics (important but not a deal breaker)
  • Ensure all orders are completed before leaving your shift
  • Prep, unpack, and process floral shipments (cold environment, heavy lifting)
  • Wrap bouquets, prepare arrangements, and package deliveries
  • Maintain strict cleanliness standards
  • Problem solve immediately and take initiative without waiting for instructions
  • Handle demanding and emotional customers with professionalism
  • Zero phone use during working hours
  • Use QuickBooks or learn quickly (an asset, not mandatory)

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Native level English

OR

  • IELTS 9.0
  • CELPIP 12
  • Minimum 75 WPM typing speed
  • Strong customer logic, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure without shutting down
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy
  • Knowledge of flowers (this will influence your pay bracket and hours scheduled)
  • Must be reliable, committed, and not someone who leaves just because the shift time ends
  • Must be able to invoice (freelance contractor)

Seasonal Expectations

  • December is extremely demanding and requires full commitment
  • You must be prepared to work up to 15 days straight as the holiday peak approaches
  • Accuracy, speed, and reliability directly affect your hourly rate

Schedule and Shifts

  • Open 7 days a week
  • Contractors work 5 days on rotation (with extended periods during peak)
  • Shifts are 7 to 8 hours
  • Morning shifts start between 6:30 and 7:00 AM
  • Closing shifts end when the work is finished
  • Weekend availability required

Contract Terms

  • Seasonal December only
  • Freelance contractor - must invoice
  • Hourly pay 23 to 28, based on performance, flower knowledge, and consistency
  • No overtime paid
  • Must complete all tasks before leaving
