Job Responsibilities
- Directly liaise with clients, builders, staff and subcontractors
- Competent in understanding and interpreting project plans and specification
- Competent in all aspects of set out, and using laser level to ensure correct levels and/or falls are achieved
- Competent in all aspects of on ground formwork. Includes determining formwork layout and of materials required
- Installation of metal decking systems (i.e. Bondek, Kingflor, Condeck, etc.)
- Installation of Rediwall / Dincel wall systems
- Competent in steelfixing with a strong understanding of structural plans and Reo schedules.
- Managing and controlling concrete pours including delegating tasks amongst the team
- Be competent in all aspects of concrete placement and finishing, including screeding, hand tools, and trowel machines
- Determine the tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Determine concrete RL's off benchmarks
- Screed to set heights including falls
- Determine best pour sequence to minimise cold joints, including pump set up location to achieve this
- Finish concrete to the required specification (broom, cove, steel trowel, other)
- Accurately measure concrete volumes
- Application of curing compound with sprayer
- Installation of required construction and isolation joints
- Competent use and appropriate selection of concrete vibrators, including to achieve off form finishes where required
- Form, strip and finish kerbs, gutters, laybacks, driveways, rebates, set downs, etc.
- Willing and able to undertake all tasks relating to the works in hand, such as structural steel, demolition, labouring, drilling & chemsetting, etc.
- Clean equipment as necessary and perform routine maintenance
- Safely unload and load and secure equipment to transport vehicle
- Train field personnel associated with your team
- Submit receipts, delivery dockets, etc. to management
- Ensure housekeeping is always maintained with regards to job site, company vehicles and equipment
- Ensure that all works are undertaken in a safe manner and in accordance with relevant Codes of Practice, WHS, Site Safety Rules, etc.
- Undertake pre-starts and toolbox talks when required
Key Skills
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role within both residential and commercial sectors
- Competence in interpreting structural and architectural plans
- Proficiency in set out and laser level use
- Strong knowledge of on-ground formwork, metal decking systems, and wall systems (Rediwall, Dincel)
- Steelfixing expertise, including reading reinforcement schedules
- Skilled in managing concrete pours, placement, and finishing techniques
- Ability to determine pour sequences and optimise pump locations
- Knowledge of curing methods, joint installation, and off-form finishes
- Competence in kerb, gutter, driveway, and related concrete works
- Ability to undertake varied construction tasks beyond concrete work (structural steel, demolition, etc.)
- Proficient use of power tools and construction equipment
- Routine maintenance and safe handling of tools and equipment
- Leadership in training and supervising team members
- Strong organisational skills for documentation and record submission
- Commitment to maintaining high WHS and site safety standards
- Quality control implementation and inspection skills
- White Card holder
- Valid driver's licence
- Ability to pass checks including Police Check, State Rail Check, WWCC, and Medical Check.
