About the opportunity:We're looking for a qualified Product Safety Analyst to bring their knowledge and expertise to the engineering compliance team.  You'll have opportunities to conduct product safety analysis of Christie products in-house and provide engineering with relevant knowledge to enable compliant design and work with external agencies to ensure certification within acceptable schedules.Responsibilities:Conduct product safety evaluations as per requirements of Certification Agencies and IEC/ISO 17025Compile report packages for submission to AgenciesHost Agency witness testing and construction reviews and follow through with updates if necessarySchedule testing on the basis of agreed upon prioritiesMaintain testing schedule and status reportsWrite clear and accurate safety test procedures to be acceptable to Certification AgenciesMaintain knowledge of latest product safety requirements and test equipment applicable to Christie productsMaintain test equipment and calibration recordsDesign, assemble and maintain special test jigsProvide design recommendations to Engineering related to safetyAssist with compliance training of other departmentsProvide backup support to compliance coordinator to obtain quotes, create purchase requisitions, create shipping memos, pack samples, liaise with third party agencies and obtain product certificationsLocation: on-site position based in Kitchener, ONWhat we're offeringA competitive salary, vacation, health & dental benefits and employer-matched pension plan.You'll have opportunities to learn, grow, and collaborate with professionals on a global reach. Whether you're working with the leading minds in the industry on high-profile projects, with internal teams to support continuous improvement, or with our customers to inspire and delight—your contributions will make a difference.The experience and skills we value:Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-5 years of experience in product safety testing and analysis Experience with scheduling product testing, standards interpretation and report documentationHands-on experience with sample preparation, product construction analysis and test equipment operationExcellent time management, prioritization and communication skillsExperience troubleshooting and calibrating test equipmentExperience training staff in testing standards and proceduresAble to lift up to 20 lbs. on regular basis and up to 50 lbs. with assistanceAble to stand for extended periods of time when setting up and conducting testsWhat will put you ahead:P.
