We are looking for a Window System Application Administrator / Windows Platform Specialist for a 6 months contract with high possibility of extension. Role is hybrid with 3 days a week on site in Downtown Toronto.

Core Responsibilities

  • Application Maintenance:
    Support and oversee the day-to-day functionality of critical business applications on Windows platforms, ensuring they remain responsive and current.
  • Upgrade Planning:
    Organize and carry out application upgrades with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
  • Backup Procedures:
    Conduct and validate backups of application data and settings ahead of major updates or system changes.
  • Patch Management:
    Deploy application patches and updates, aligning with internal or vendor release notes to maintain reliability and compliance.
  • System Monitoring:
    Perform routine checks to assess application health, performance, and uptime.
  • Documentation:
    Keep thorough records of application configurations, updates, and support processes.
  • Security Coordination:
    Work with cybersecurity teams to help meet internal compliance standards and implement secure practices.
  • Performance Tuning:
    Investigate and resolve issues affecting application speed or availability to enhance user experience.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience managing and supporting Windows-based applications in a professional environment.
  • Solid understanding of application lifecycle management, including patching, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery practices for application data.
  • Strong analytical thinking and clear communication skills, especially in documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
