Job Summary

Cavanagh Financial is a small but growing accounting practice providing personal and corporate tax services. We're looking for a dependable, organized Accounting & Administrative Assistant to support our team—especially during tax season. This is a great role for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working with clients, and wants to grow in the accounting field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with client intake, onboarding, and maintaining accurate client records
  • Prepare, scan, and organize documents for tax filings and accounting deadlines
  • Enter data into Cantax and other internal systems (training provided)
  • Track deadlines and help manage workflow during peak tax season
  • Support existing staff

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Comfortable with numbers and basic accounting concepts
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Willingness to learn Cantax and other accounting software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Work Schedule

  • January–June: Full-time hours (peak tax season)
  • July–December: Reduced hours (steady off-season workflow)
