Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Educational Foundation:
    Bachelor's degree in information systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field

  • Professional Tenure:
    Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in a Business Analyst role, with a strong focus on data management, reporting, and requirements elicitation.

  • Agile Methodologies:
    Proven experience in an Agile environment, working directly with Product Owners to define and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and product backlog items.
  • Documentation Expertise:
    Proven track record in developing and maintaining robust data dictionaries, business glossaries, and comprehensive data lineage documentation.
  • Advanced Data Modeling:
    Strong proficiency in UML or analogous data modeling techniques, with the ability to visually represent data flow, detailed calculation logic, and formulate data optimization strategies for storage, governance, and calculation centralization.
  • SQL Mastery:
    SQL skills essential for efficient data querying, extraction, and in-depth analysis.
  • Visualization Tools:
    Hands-on experience with leading data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView) for creating impactful dashboards and reports.
  • Analytical Acumen:
    Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Communication Prowess:
    Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex data concepts and business requirements clearly.
  • Detail-Oriented & Quality-Driven:
    Meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Autonomous & Agile:
    Ability to thrive independently and manage multiple tasks effectively within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Project Management Tools:
    Experience utilizing Jira or similar project management platforms.
  • Data Governance Knowledge:
    Familiarity with established data governance principles and frameworks.
  • Industry Specificity:
    Understanding of data and reporting nuances within the financial services industry.
  • Scripting Proficiency:
    Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Data Architecture:
    Foundational understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
