Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting disciplines, including residential, commercial, restoration, and industrial painting. This role requires a strong understanding of construction and carpentry principles, as well as excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients and team members. The Painter will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications and safety standards.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, and coatings using hand tools and power tools with precision and attention to detail.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine project scope and specifications.
- Perform restoration work on damaged or aged surfaces to restore their original appearance.
- Utilize rigging techniques for elevated or hard-to-reach areas safely.
- Operate various tools including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other equipment necessary for different painting tasks.
- Work on residential, commercial, industrial, or specialty projects while adhering to safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure project requirements are met on time and within scope.
- Maintain a clean work environment and properly store tools and materials after each project.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting, restoration, residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in painting and carpentry tasks.
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for sealing gaps and joints effectively.
- Strong understanding of schematics related to building systems when applicable.
- Familiarity with rigging techniques for working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently across multiple projects.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with clients and team members professionally.
- Ability to operate safely around scaffolding, ladders, and industrial equipment while following safety guidelines.
