Newmont North America operations are located in British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec with roles in operations, projects, and exploration. Regional Support is provided from our office in Vancouver.

Your Impact
  • Own and manage assigned regional categories or sub-categories by developing, implementing, and continuously improving regional category strategies, ensuring alignment with global frameworks, operational needs, supplier relationship management objectives, and overall business value delivery.
  • Develop and lead the regional category strategy across North America sites, including but not limited to industrial equipment & tools, consumables & supplies, safety & PPE, electrical & mechanical components, instrumentation & calibration tools, and facility & office products.
  • Ensure category strategies address operational maintenance needs, inventory optimization, site reliability programs, and business continuity.

    Establish governance mechanisms for the effective aggregation, rationalization, and effective supplier management of categories, balancing regional consolidation with site-specific needs.
Essential Duties
  • Regional Category Strategy Development: Develop, implement, and evolve category strategies that reflect both global guidance and site-specific realities. Own the plan; drive the results.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Alignment: Build strong relationships with operational, maintenance, and commercial stakeholders to ensure regional strategies are practical, supported, and adopted across sites.
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Manage supplier performance strategically. Strengthen key partnerships, drive innovation, and hold suppliers accountable to KPIs and commitments. Develop, maintain, and/or strengthen strategic supplier relationships, drive innovation, and hold suppliers accountable to KPIs and commitments.
  • Commercial Risk and Opportunity Management: Identify, assess, and proactively manage supply, commercial, and contractual risks; seek and capitalize on regional market opportunities.
  • Operational Integration: Build strong, proactive relationships with operations, maintenance, and commercial teams to embed category strategies into daily site activities.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and report category performance metrics (savings, compliance, supplier KPIs, local content goals), providing insights to adjust strategies as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all suppliers, contractors, and category actions comply with mine safety standards, ESG commitments, Indigenous engagement goals, and regulatory requirements.
Training & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in category management, procurement, or supply chain functions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Skilled in negotiation and supplier performance evaluation
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Working Conditions
  • Dynamic, fast-paced mining and supply chain setting across North American sites
  • Remote role, primarily supporting British Columbia Timezone
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with site and regional teams
  • Mix of remote collaboration, supplier site visits, and operational integration

The expected salary range for this role is CAD $ 83,400-111,180. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
