For more information, check out this video about Working at Bethany.   About the Role  With a passion for care towards residents, families and team members, the Maintenance Worker II is responsible for maintaining the facility's physical plant in a safe, clean and sanitary condition, ensuring that all utility, electrical, and mechanical systems are fully operational. The Maintenance Worker II is responsible for all security related functions for the facility as required in order to foster a safe and secure environment for all residents.  What You Will Do
  • Resident Centered Care: Promotes service excellence through support of the Interdisciplinary Team to achieve and maintain quality resident centered care within the scope of the Maintenance department.
  • Documentation: Accurate, comprehensive and timely documentation of maintenance work completed in alignment with Bethany policies and procedures.
  • Safety: Contributes to a safe environment for residents, the team and self by understanding and adhering to safety guidelines and practices at all times.
  • Pro-active Learner: Demonstrates the vision and values of Bethany and lives out the mission of Creating Caring Communities.
  • Team Work: Cares for and works cooperatively with others as an effective team member
What Your Bring
  • Grade 12 Education or recognized equivalent, as well as
  • 1 year experience maintenance experience, preferably in a hospital or large facility environment
  • Able to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment.
  • Must demonstrate an acceptable level of reading, writing, and comprehension of English language skills.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Knowledge of blue print and specifications reading and implementation.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize various demands
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of fire codes, building codes, and general safety regulations.
