We offer a wide range of services, including vehicle repairs, maintenance, and parts. We are looking for a highly organized and efficient Shop Dispatcher to join our Service Department team.

Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Shop Dispatcher is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Service Department. This involves managing the workflow in the garage, assigning tasks to automotive trades employees, and coordinating work with the Service Advisors. The Shop Dispatcher plays a key role in ensuring timely completion of all service work while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the service workflow in the garage by assigning tasks to the appropriate technicians based on their skills and qualifications.
  • Estimate the time required for each job and input repair orders into the system for the daily workload.
  • Communicate regularly with Service Advisors to provide clients with accurate status updates.
  • Use mobile laptop systems to look up parts availability and assist technicians with parts ordering.
  • Pre-pick and deliver parts directly to technicians to improve efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Organize the flow of completed work to the wash bay for complimentary services when applicable.
  • Manage the cleanliness and organization of the tool room and ensure all tools are properly accounted for.
  • Oversee tire storage flow in and out of the shop in coordination with the drive-thru manager.
  • Keep management informed of any situations requiring attention that may negatively impact business operations, profitability, or customer satisfaction.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff, customers, and vendors.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the service department's goals and objectives.

Physical & Operational Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address issues quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Must be organized with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Observe safety procedures and report any potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality are required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Certificate of Conduct required.

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 9:30am-6:00pm
