Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team. Reporting to Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for full cycle accounting for corporate book and provide support to daily tasks of Fund Accounting team. This role will start with a contract position and will potentially be converted to a full-time permanent role.
Responsibilities
· Accounts payable: review invoice, prepare journal entries of invoice recording.
· Cheque issuance: prepare cheques for vendor invoices, employee expense claim, maintain cheque log.
· Prepare month-end closing accrual journal entries and closing adjustment entries.
· Review and finalize monthly financial package which includes full sets of financial statements.
· Prepare monthly excess working capital calculation and related analysis for management review.
· Prepare quarterly Excess Working Capital calculation and related analysis for OSC filing.
· Review and approve monthly HST filing.
· Maintain cashflow forecast on regular basis
· Prepare annual corporate budget and update financial forecast
· Manage annual corporate audit and responsible for the working files for audit process.
· Provide support to daily tasks of Fund Accounting team.

Experience/Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in the financial services industry (ideally in Asset Management firms).
· Clear and concise verbal and written communication capabilities
· Demonstrated strong int Strong problem-solving skills.
· A self-starter with the ability to work independently, and also as part of a team.
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
· Excellent computer skills, specifically with Excel.
· Highly motivated, self-directing and results oriented.
· Excellent working ethic, combined with positive attitude.
· Experience with SAGE is an asset but not required.
· Applicants with CPA, CA, or CMA designation preferred but not required.
· Fund Accounting related experience will be an asset.
