About the Role:
ETRO Construction is seeking a Superintendent to lead on-site operations and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This role oversees daily construction activities, manages field teams, and coordinates with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to drive project success.
As the on-site leader, the Superintendent is responsible for maintaining a culture of safety, fostering teamwork, and ensuring efficient and effective project execution. You'll work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to maintain progress, mitigate risks, and deliver results that reflect ETRO's standards of excellence.
What You'll Do:
- Lead day-to-day construction activities from site setup through project completion.
- Participate in preconstruction planning, scheduling, logistics coordination, and risk assessment.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed construction schedules in collaboration with Project Managers.
- Supervise site teams, including ETRO craft employees and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement on-site.
- Develop and implement Site-Specific Safety Plans in alignment with ETRO's Health & Safety Program.
- Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ensure all safety protocols and First Aid coverage are in place.
- Take immediate corrective action to address unsafe practices or conditions.
- Implement and enforce site-specific Quality Management Plans, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections, identify deficiencies, and work with trades to resolve issues promptly.
- Manage and update project schedules using the Last Planner System to meet milestones and deadlines.
- Coordinate subcontractors and manage weekly trade meetings to ensure scope alignment and progress tracking.
- Oversee material and equipment deliveries, inventory, and resource planning to prevent delays or waste.
- Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Lead site meetings and provide regular progress updates to Project Managers and senior leadership.
- Maintain daily logs, safety documentation, and timesheet approvals.
- Support closeout activities, ensuring documentation, inspections, and deficiencies are completed to ETRO's standards.
What You Bring:
- Red Seal certification in Carpentry or a related trade.
- 7-10 years of experience in construction supervision or site leadership.
- Proven ability to manage site operations for commercial, residential, and/or institutional construction projects.
- Proficiency in scheduling tools, construction management software, and safety compliance systems.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, codes, and safety regulations.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to fostering a collaborative and safety-first work environment.
