WHATS THE TEAM LIKE

The IT team manages the airport's technology infrastructure and daily operations to keep systems running smoothly. Their work ensures seamless connectivity between people and technology, enabling efficient and reliable airport operations. By maintaining high-performance IT services, the team plays a critical role in delivering operational excellence and supporting the organization's success.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide technology leadership and understanding in all technological aspects (i.e. architecture, physical devices and peripherals, system integrations, database configuration and application design and setup) for each of the Airport Systems. 
  • Identify current process issues and operational objectives and explore recommended changes to achieve efficient and effective processes and alignment between technical components and operational requirements 
  • Identify process issues and objectives, and recommend changes to align technical components with operational needs for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyze the impact and changes required to business processes and systems related to a variety of organizational projects to ensure that the evolution of systems and data sources are aligned 
  • Manage interactions between IT, Infrastructure, and other departments to ensure that all data implications and project dependencies are understood, communicated, and planned for 
  • Prepare and submit Business Cases and support documentation for ad hoc funding requests for smaller planning projects 
  • Work collaboratively with other managers, technical support people, and outsourced contract support personnel 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering or similar, relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • At least 8 years experience working in Information Technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading industry systems including architecture, physical devices and peripherals, system integrations, database configuration and application design and setup. 
  • Proven experience as a technology subject matter expert working in major projects, having successfully delivered the projects to operations. 
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to adapt communications style to others to ensure common understanding and clarity in scope and requirements definitions. 
  • Experience working with systems that support or directly impact the operation of large 24/7 facilities

WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET

  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Familiar with IATA practices and programs and standards, including proposed draft and final Resolutions and Recommended Practices (RP's). 
  • Risk management skills
  • Cost control/management skills
  • Negotiation skills
