Job Title: Bell Person
Reports to: Director of Guest Services
Job Summary:
The Bell Person at Hard Rock Hotel London is a key member of the guest services team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service by assisting guests with luggage handling, providing information about hotel amenities, and ensuring a smooth and memorable check-in/check-out process. The Bell Person will also be tasked with greeting guests with genuine enthusiasm and a positive attitude, ensuring their needs are met and they feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Arrival & Departure:
- Greet guests upon arrival with a warm, genuine and friendly attitude.
- Assist with unloading luggage from guest vehicles and transporting it to their rooms.
- Provide information on hotel amenities, services, and nearby attractions.
- Offer assistance with luggage during check-out, ensuring smooth departure.
- Escort guests to their rooms, explaining room features and hotel facilities.
- Be the ambassador of the Hard Rock Hotel as well as the city of London Ontario.
- Contribute to the hotel's Forbes Travel Guide service goals through consistent delivery of polished, anticipatory, and personalized guest service.
Concierge Support:
- Assist with guest inquiries, including directions, reservations, and event information.
- Offer recommendations on local attractions, dining, and entertainment options.
- Coordinate with other hotel departments (e.g., valet, housekeeping) to fulfill guest requests.
Room Deliveries:
- Deliver items such as room service orders, amenities, and packages to guest rooms in a timely and efficient manner.
General Hotel Assistance:
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the lobby, entrance, and bell desk area.
- Assist with any special guest requests, ensuring high standards of service are met.
- Carry out tasks such as assisting with valet parking, managing incoming and outgoing mail, and helping guests with transportation arrangements.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the front desk, housekeeping, and F&B teams to ensure all guest needs are met.
- Communicate guest requests or issues to the relevant departments to resolve promptly.
Safety & Security:
- Maintain awareness of hotel security procedures and ensure the safety and comfort of all guests.
- Safeguard guest luggage and belongings by properly storing and delivering them.
- Maintain guest and hotel confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A passion for exceptional service and an interest in contributing to a Forbes-level service culture.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role preferred but not required.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Customer Service: A passion for providing exceptional service and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage, and stand for extended periods.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Positive Attitude: A friendly and approachable personality, committed to delivering outstanding experiences to guests.
Physical Demands:
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Lifting and carrying luggage up to 50 lbs (22 kg) in a safe manner
- Occasional bending, reaching, and stooping.
