Senior User Interface Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-obsessed
Senior UX/UI Designer
to join our client's team. In this role, you will be a strong advocate for the customer, with a primary focus on the visual execution and interface design of our
direct-to-consumer (D2C) products
.

The ideal candidate is formally trained in design, passionate about
customer-centric innovation
, and takes pride in delivering visually stunning and meticulously crafted work. You must have essential
User Interface Design experience
and a strong understanding of how and when
design trends
evolve, demonstrating an innovative approach to look, feel, and color palettes.

You will be instrumental in translating complex challenges into elegant, intuitive, and aesthetically pleasing experiences, particularly for
advertisement and sales landing pages
. This position requires a great storyteller who can effectively present and discuss work with clients and stakeholders, embracing feedback as a crucial part of the iteration process.

This is a contract to hire opportunity, with the potential to move into a full-time role with our client after 6 months. This role requires the talent to work onsite at our client's office in downtown Toronto 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Transform complex problems
  into elegant and highly usable customer experiences, with a focus on
  User Interface (UI) design
  elements like look, feel, and color.
• Lead ideation, concept development, and experience innovation efforts, staying current with
  design trends
  and bringing innovative ideas to the table.
• Create essential design deliverables including
  sketches, wireframes, specifications, prototypes, scenarios, and storyboards
  .
• Focus design efforts on
  direct-to-consumer (D2C) products
  , specifically advertisement and
  sales landing pages
  .
• Occasionally contribute to design elements for
  email marketing campaigns
  .
• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure successful design intent implementation.
• Act as the primary
  advocate for the user
  throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Actively stay abreast of current design methodologies, practices, and industry trends, demonstrating a strong understanding of the design landscape.
• Participate in customer research activities, including observational studies and usability testing.
• Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and the rationale behind design approaches to diverse audiences.
• Contribute to shaping the strategic experience design approach for key projects and initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience
  as a UX/UI Designer, with recent, demonstrated domain experience designing
  landing pages
  .
• Essential
  User Interface Design experience
  with a proven ability to define and execute the look, feel, and color of an interface.
• Strong understanding of and ability to keep up with
  design trends
  , demonstrating innovation and an ability to articulate why design decisions are made.
• The ideal candidate will have
  7+ years
  of overall relevant experience, including public site experience (e.g., banking).
• A degree in design or a design-related discipline (e.g., industrial design, user-centered design, design strategy, design management, human factors, human-computer interaction, etc.).
• Expert proficiency with design tools such as
  Figma (3+ years experience), Axure, and Adobe's Creative Suite
  .
• Proven ability to work with and
  simplify complicated flows
  .
• Strong prototyping skills demonstrated through various techniques: sketch, paper, wireframe, video, or interactive prototypes.
• Solid
  understanding of web and mobile technologies
  .
• Excellent organizational, logical, and analytical skills, with
  meticulous attention to detail
  .
• Strong verbal and written
  communication skills
  , with the ability to ask good questions, communicate ideas to a diverse audience, and constructively integrate feedback.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to
  collaborate well
  in a team environment and interact with stakeholders (approx. 25% of the role).
• Experience with
  email marketing design
  , is a nice to have.
• Animation skills, particularly for page transitions, is a nice to have.
• Experience in the
  financial services, investing, and/or insurance industries
  is a nice to have.
