Apprentice Electrician (Temp)

Position Overview:

A. & D.C. ELECTRIC LIMITED is currently hiring a full-time (temporary), 3rd-4th year Apprentice Electrician in Dartmouth, N.S. This position will provide support for electrical repair and maintenance of electrical equipment in a marine or heavy industrial environment.

This Position is on a TEMPORARY, 4-5 month basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, modify, repair and maintain electrical circuits, devices and equipment

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and control equipment

  • Participate in training related to this position (Ex: WHMIS, Workplace First Aid, Confined Space, Fall Arrest)

  • Operate in accordance with OHS and company safety policies.

  • Follow direction and work efficiently in different environments and job sites.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and working in confined spaces, heights, near water and in extreme conditions.

  • Safety-focused, with a strong work ethic and availability for travel and/or emergency call-ins.

  • Marine industry experience preferred.

  • Industrial experience preferred.

  • Valid Class 5 License required.

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm.

*Evenings and weekends sometimes required, travel sometimes required.
