Join our dynamic team as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) in Markham & Scarborough, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients. You will provide compassionate care and support to individuals in various settings, including homes, group homes, and nursing facilities. What you'll do

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and overall health status, ensuring any changes are communicated promptly.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary needs.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' well-being.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping and laundry tasks as needed.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans tailored to individual client needs.
  • Support clients with memory care, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Personal Support Worker or equivalent training in caregiving or nursing.
  • Experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of First Aid and CPR techniques; certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
  • Strong observational skills for effective patient monitoring and reporting changes in condition.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients using mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication skills to foster positive relationships with clients, families, and team members.
