LOCATION AND ABOUT NHH

Located approximately 100 kilometres east of Toronto, NHH delivers a broad range of acute, post-acute, outpatient and diagnostic services. Acute services include emergency and intensive care, medical/surgical care, obstetrical care and palliative care. Post-acute specialty services (PASS) include restorative care and rehabilitation. Mental health care, cancer and supportive care, dialysis and other ambulatory care clinics are offered on an outpatient basis through partnerships with regional centres and nearby specialists. NHH offers a full range of diagnostic services, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) and mammography. The hospital serves the catchment area of west Northumberland County. A mixed urban and rural population of approximately 67,000 residents, west Northumberland comprises the Town of Cobourg, the Municipality of Port Hope, Alderville First Nation and the townships of Hamilton, Cramahe and Alnwick/Haldimand. Role Overview
Reporting to the MR Charge Technologist and accountable to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and the MR Medical Director, the full-time MR Technologist will be responsible for performing routine and advanced MR examinations including interventional procedures. The Technologist will be expected to make independent decisions while performing these duties.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists (CMRITO) of Ontario as a Magnetic Resonance Technologist, MRT (MR) and being a member in good standing is required
• Previous MR experience in a hospital environment a definite asset
• Previous recent related EPIC experience (Radiant Module) a definite asset
• Previous recent related GE Centricity PACS experience a definite asset
• Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Standing, sitting, walking – possibly for prolonged periods
• Required use of computer systems e.g., Nuclear Medicine control console, Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
• May be required to view computer monitors for extended periods of time
• The job requires the use of office equipment, computers, telephones, fax machines and other peripheral electronic equipment related to PACS
• Responds professionally and appropriately in high stress and emergency situations
• Required to assist patients during the transfer to and from the Nuclear Medicine table (e.g., to and from wheelchair to MR table(s), to and from stretcher/bed to MR table etc.)
• Required to move and/or transport hospital related equipment
• Responding professionally and appropriately in high stress and emergency situations

Employment Requirements
Successful applicants are required provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, that was complete less than one year from the date of hire. This requirement must be met within the first sixty (60) days of employment.

Additionally, to the above, successful applicants are also required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process which includes providing an up-to-date immunization record to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Northumberland Hills Hospital operates a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff.
