Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Directional Driller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating HDD equipment to install underground utilities such as cables and ducts. This hands-on role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload directional bore equipment in a safe manner that is secure and damage free
- Complete Driver's e-log & daily vehicle inspection (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, accident or incident reports
- Complete a daily inspection on bore equipment prior to commencing work
- In conjunction with locator, operate the directional drill using the selected bore heads and back reamers to place cables and / or duct
- Trouble shoot and minor repairs of equipment issues and relay information to service technician for further assistance or resolution
- Able to operate the drill locator as required
- Prepare the drill fluid based on ground conditions
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience Drilling and/or Locating
- Previous experience working around existing buried utilities
- Must have previous experience and be proficient in the operation of a directional bore machine and associated locate set
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
- Must be able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Valid driver's license (Class AZ or ARZ)
- Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be fully proficient with CVOR and Book 7 requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable Health and Safety training as per legislative and job requirements
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31.80-$41.21 per hour
