Sr. Director, Managed Extended Detection

The Senior Director, Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR) is responsible for the overall quality and delivery of GoSecure's MXDR suite of services — including managed endpoint, SIEM, inbox detection, vulnerability scanning, patching, firewall management, and threat detection and response. 

This individual will provide strategic direction, technical leadership, and operational oversight across our MXDR organization. The successful candidate will combine deep cybersecurity expertise with proven leadership experience to drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and exceptional customer outcomes. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Lead and Inspire: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our MDR team — from threat hunting and detection to analysis, incident response, and containment.
• Strategic Growth: Develop and execute technical roadmaps that strengthen the MXDR team's capabilities and professional growth.
• Incident Leadership: Coordinate and manage critical security incidents across multiple teams and regions with precision and confidence.
• Collaborative Innovation: Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Product teams to continually enhance our MXDR technology stack and operational outcomes.
• Customer Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and clear communication on security matters.
• Operational Excellence: Identify opportunities for automation, AI integration, and process optimization to scale delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
• Team Development: Mentor and develop analysts and technical leaders, fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and excellence.
• Continuous Improvement: Champion best practices, metrics, and innovations that enhance service quality and customer retention.

Qualifications & Experience 

• Education & Credentials:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, GCIH, GIAC, OSCP, OSEE, or GREM are highly valued).
  • Practical experience and proven results are valued above credentials.
• Language:
  • Bilingual English/French preferred, ideally based in the Greater Montreal area.
• Experience & Expertise:
  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including leadership in a Managed Detection & Response (MDR/MXDR) or SOC environment.
• Proven success managing and scaling delivery teams (40+ professionals) across multiple geographies (Canada/US).
• Deep understanding of SIEM, SOAR, and EDR technologies (Splunk, LogRhythm, QRadar, FortiSOAR, etc.).
• Expertise with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and CIS Critical Security Controls.
• Strong grasp of networking protocols (IP, DNS, HTTP, FTP, SMTP) and security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, DLP, NGAV, web proxies).
• Demonstrated ability to integrate automation and AI to enhance operational efficiency.
• History of strong customer relationships, retention, and satisfaction.
