Custodial Worker

Overview
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Custodial worker will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe manufacturing facility. This includes performing routine inspections, cleaning and disinfecting equipment and work areas, safely disposing of waste materials, and monitoring and reporting any potential environmental hazards.
The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail and knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of all manufacturing areas, identifying and addressing any potential environmental hazards.
- Clean and disinfect equipment, work surface, and other designated areas to maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety.
- Respond promptly to any spills or emergencies and safely dispose of hazardous materials following company protocols.
- Monitor and maintain waste streams. ensuring proper disposal and compliance with all environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning, waste disposal, and other environmental activities.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks.
- Participate in training and development opportunities related to environmental safety and procedures.
- Continuously look for ways to improve and optimize environmental processes and procedures.
Position Qualifications/Functional Skills/ Competencies
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week and overtime as required.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability and ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures,
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion for a long period of time.
- Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
- Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.
- Communication skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights.
Education/ Experience
- Entry-level with little or no experience
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Preferably a high school diploma or CEAC.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing operations environment preferred.
Job Factors/ Work Environment
- Work involves physical demands typically found in a manufacturing environment, such as but not limited to: prolonged standing, bending, walking for extended periods of time, lifting and /or moving equipment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
