Public Safety and Emergency Services is responsible for keeping communities safe and secure, upholding a fair and accessible justice system, and ensuring Alberta is prepared for and resilient to the impacts of disasters by working with our partners in law enforcement, justice, health, and social services.

Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting meaningful engagement initiatives? Join our team as an Engagement Logistics Coordinator, where you'll play a key role in supporting projects that strengthen relationships with communities and stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Community and Stakeholder Engagement, Engagement Logistics Coordinator is responsible for program delivery and provides assistance to more senior positions in the unit.

The incumbent works closely with all members of the unit to ensure project completion by way of managing assigned tasks, creating and/or updating project plans and stakeholder lists, employee engagement activities, including the coordination of internal and external stakeholder meetings, supporting planning and reporting requests. The incumbent is required for logistics support to work on the coordination, financial accounting, and administration of projects managed by the unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Writing briefing notes and correspondence.
  • Leading logistics for stakeholder engagement and other projects as required, for example, scheduling meetings/sessions, booking venues, developing agendas and presentations.
  • Developing workplans for publicly facing events for the department.
  • Developing and tracking project budgets.
  • Modernizing engagement/project tools, data and information storage.

Qualifications

University graduation (4 years) in Communications, Social Sciences, Business, Administration or any other related field.

Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

Assets:

  • Project management experience and/or designation
  • Familiarity with organizing public-facing events, including logistics, budgeting, and interfacing with officials
  • Knowledge of the workings of government, the related mandates of other programs, divisions and departments as it impacts the branch.
