WordPress Website Developer

MARSWorks is a leading Web Development/Design company based in Ottawa. We are looking for a Website Developer, with skills in WordPress development and WordPress plugin development.

A minimum 3 years of WordPress experience is required for this position. To be considered, a minimum of three reference sites must be provided. Please include a link to the project, a description of the work you performed, and the technologies you used.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop WordPress websites including layout and content, using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Theming in WordPress
  • Develop custom WordPress post-types
  • Collaborate with UX designers and web content writers to develop websites
  • Keeping plugins and WordPress up-to-date
  • Testing
  • Communication with internal team and clients

Required Skills

  • WordPress
  • HTML
  • CSS/LESS/SASS
  • JavaScript/jQuery
  • PHP - mostly to be used for developing custom plugins, or handling more advanced WordPress theme manipulations
  • Git version control
  • Strong English communication skills (both oral and written)

Nice-To-Have Skills include:

  • Experience with Elementor page builder
  • React or other UI framework (Svelte, Vue, etc.)
  • Ability to develop WordPress plugins
  • Experience with with CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Tag Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
