Business Manager - Ground Support
at Epiroc

Your Mission:

The Business Manager will lead the Ground Support Product Line for Epiroc Canada, serving as the primary owner and subject matter expert. This role focuses on delivering application-specific knowledge and equipment recommendations to support customer needs. In addition, the Business Manager is responsible for achieving business objectives, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving market growth, with a strong emphasis on business development within the Canadian market.

The successful candidate will provide leadership that reflects professionalism, fosters a positive business culture, and demonstrates deep product expertise. By strengthening Epiroc's understanding of the Canadian market and its evolving demands, the Business Manager will ensure the delivery of products and solutions that meet both current and future customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • To work proactively with Rock Mechanics Engineers and other stakeholders at various mine sites to support them in optimizing their ground support programs and assist in finding solutions to their specific challenges.
  • To grow the RGU business in the region by conducting business development activities, including being on-site and underground with key potential customers.
  • To organize, manage, and develop the ground support business within the region.
  • With the support of the Commercial Specialist, the Business Manager will take full responsibility for the profit and loss statement and balance sheet.
  • To elaborate, develop, and control the execution of the Ground Support Marketing Plan and activities by market segment to achieve the best results.
  • To know the region's market and market share, along with competitor activities.
  • To understand the market, its needs, and future demands, and to communicate this information effectively internally.
  • With the help of the Commercial Specialist, to assist in defining and controlling customer net pricing to remain commercially viable and competitive.
  • To control and safeguard the company's assigned assets, such as sales stock, office goods, test equipment, and customer receivables.
  • To work with the Business Line Manager to ensure that appropriate resources are in place or developed in line with business growth targets, with special attention to adequate training and support.
  • To grow and develop direct reports, such as Product & Application Specialists and Technical Service Representatives, to provide customer support and conduct product testing.

Your profile:

  • Five (5) years of experience working with ground support products and their applications within the mining industry.
  • Solid technical knowledge and experience with ground support programs and rock mechanics theory.
  • Proven business acumen with experience in sales/marketing within mining products or related industries.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • University degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or another university degree complemented with extensive relevant experience.
  • Fluent English is essential; bilingual in French Canadian would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience within a consumables business line at Epiroc would be an advantage.
  • Good communication skills and strong customer focus.
  • Combined commercial and technical interests with the aptitude to stay informed.
  • Good leadership and team-building skills.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized working profile.
