Responsabilités Le TD Animation joue un rôle essentiel au sein de l'équipe d'animation en assurant le pont entre la création artistique et les besoins techniques. Il/Elle développe, optimise et maintient les outils, rigs et workflows nécessaires pour permettre aux animateurs de produire un travail de haute qualité de manière efficace:
  • Développer et maintenir des outils et scripts pour améliorer le workflow des animateurs.
  • Collaborer avec les superviseurs d'animation pour identifier les besoins techniques et proposer des solutions adaptées.
  • Déboguer et résoudre les problèmes techniques rencontrés par les animateurs (rigs, scènes, pipelines).
  • Créer, améliorer et maintenir des rigs de personnages, créatures, accessoires ou véhicules.
  • Assurer l'intégration des rigs dans le pipeline du studio.
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les équipes de rigging, pipeline.
  • Documenter les outils, procédures et workflows développés.
  • Participer à l'évolution du pipeline d'animation et aux nouvelles technologies.

Compétences requises
  • Maîtrise d'un logiciel d'animation 3D (Maya généralement).
  • Solides compétences en scripting (Python, MEL).
  • Connaissance des moteurs temps réel (Unreal, Unity).  
  • Connaissance des principes d'animation et des contraintes liées à la production 3D.
  • Compréhension du rigging, skinning et des systèmes de déformation.
  • Capacité à résoudre des problèmes complexes et à proposer des solutions techniques efficaces.
  • Bonnes compétences en communication et aptitude à travailler en équipe.

Hybrid: Work from the Studio or remotely from the province of Québec, Canada.
Responsibilities: The Animation TD plays a key role within the animation team by bridging artistic creation and technical needs. They develop, optimize, and maintain the tools, rigs, and workflows required to enable animators to produce high-quality work efficiently:
  • Develop and maintain tools and scripts to improve the animators' workflow.
  • Collaborate with animation supervisors to identify technical needs and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues encountered by animators (rigs, scenes, pipelines).
  • Create, improve, and maintain character, creature, prop, or vehicle rigs.
  • Ensure the proper integration of rigs into the studio's pipeline.
  • Work closely with the rigging, pipeline teams.
  • Document the tools, procedures, and workflows developed.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the animation pipeline and new technologies.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in a 3D animation software (typically Maya).
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, MEL).
  • Knowledge of real-time engines (Unreal, Unity).
  • Knowledge of animation principles and the constraints of 3D production.
  • Understanding of rigging, skinning, and deformation systems.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and propose effective technical solutions.
  • Good communication skills and strong teamwork abilities.
