As we expand our Emergency Management and Training division, we're seeking a
highly experienced Incident Command System (ICS) Instructor
to deliver certified ICS training across Canada.

Role Description

The
ICS Instructor
will be responsible for delivering ICS Canada-certified training (ICS 100, 200, 300, and 400) to public and private sector clients. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator and practitioner with a deep understanding of ICS principles, adult learning methodologies, and real-world emergency management experience.

This is a flexible, contract-based position offering opportunities for both
virtual and in-person facilitation
.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver
    ICS 100, 200, 300, and 400 courses
    in alignment with ICS Canada standards.
  • Customize and deliver training using your own certified course materials, which will be
    co-branded with OpCentra
    .
  • Facilitate engaging, scenario-based learning experiences that meet adult learning best practices.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to participants on the application of ICS principles within their organizations.
  • Support OpCentra in expanding its emergency management training offerings through quality instruction and client engagement.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives to maintain excellence in course delivery and participant outcomes.
  • Collaborate with clients, municipalities, and emergency management organizations to strengthen preparedness and response capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Certified ICS Canada Instructor
    , authorized to teach ICS 100–400.
  • Minimum
    10 years of experience
    delivering ICS training or leading emergency management programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in
    command or general staff roles
    within an ICS framework.
  • Proven track record of successful training delivery in government, oil & gas, utilities, or emergency services sectors.
  • Strong understanding of
    adult education principles
    , facilitation, and evaluation.
  • Must have
    own ICS 100–400 course materials
    , approved by ICS Canada, eligible for co-branding with OpCentra.
