Now evolving to support potash exports through a billion-dollar expansion, Westshore is positioning itself as a diversified, future-ready terminal while maintaining its strong legacy of operational excellence and environmental stewardship.

There now exists an opportunity for a new Director, Human Resources to work with the incumbent on a transitional basis prior to owning the role. The Director, Human Resources is a key member of Westshore's senior leadership team, responsible for stewarding the organization's labour relations strategy and strengthening its relationships with the terminal's three unions. Operating within a highly complex, unionized, and safety intensive environment, the Director will lead an extensive HR portfolio encompassing collective bargaining, contract administration, dispute resolution, occupational health and safety, training, security, salary administration, talent acquisition, and organizational development.

A central focus of this role is proactive, constructive labour relations. The Director will serve as Westshore's chief negotiator, shaping bargaining strategy and leading negotiations with credibility, fairness, and firmness. They will build trust-based relationships with union leaders, foster open communication, and ensure issues are navigated with professionalism, clarity, and respect.

The ideal candidate brings extensive labour relations and negotiating experience from industrial, or heavy-infrastructure environments where union partnerships and safety are paramount. They have been the chief negotiator for numerous collective bargaining agreements and have a demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively, manage complex issues, and cultivate durable, solutions-focused relationships with multiple unions. A credible strategist and skilled influencer, they balance executive-level advisory capability with a hands-on, collaborative, leadership style rooted in sound judgement and transparency.
